Communion

“The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one.” -1 Cor 10:16-17

We enter into communion service with one another, or partake of the Lord’s supper and washing of the saints feet a few times each year. This service usually takes place 3rd Sunday in April and during our Union Meeting in October. Communion is the second ordinance Christ established for the New Testament Church.  In order to commune with the Church and Christ, you must have submitted to the first ordinance of the Church – that of baptism. The baptism must be carried out by a Primitive Baptist minister of the same faith and order. This ensures that our congregation is of one mind and one accord and that we are not mixing our church with other religious orders. (2 Cor 6:17)  However, we welcome anyone to come and witness.

And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer. -Luke 24:14-15

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. – Matthew 26:26-28

He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. – John 13:4-5, 13-15
